I'm thinking it's a lamination issue. Not that it matters, but the coin looks to have been cleaned at one time a while back.

Sure looks like it. To me, it's an eyesore, not a curiosity, and I wouldn't pay anything for it. It'll be interesting to see.

It's a lam. If it was a 44-P it would add value, but as a 31-S that's a major detractor.
