The ascending ladder s/n and the descending s/n, which one is more popular?

Typically, there's no difference to collectors although personally I would prefer an up ladder 1 through 8.

The are both equally scarce so any preference would be up to the collector.

I'm with Steve, 1 through 8 would be my choice.

I would lean towards 'Kanga's' POV since it is ultimately collectors who decide so it makes it challenging to state which is more popular. I have seen several posts (on other forums) of collectors in search of ladders & from those I would predict that ascending from #1 is likely more popular than descending. Many collectors reject serial numbers which start from 2 or other #s (such as 98765432). In terms of how rare they are I'm surprised they're not more popular.

The up ladder serial numbers 01234567, 23456789 and 34567890 are less popular than 12345678? Why?
