Has seen very little circulation since issue, and has been a very favorable environment for most of that time. Doesn't even seem to have any bag marks!
Lucky you!

I have seen 100+ year old bronze coins of other countries in this sort of condition and luster, but as you may expect, they are quite scarce.

If you keep this one in a hard acrylic airtight capsule, and include in an album with PVC free pages, and it should stay this way for just about forever.

Some collectors prefer toned coins, but to my way of thinking,
a coin that has retained as much of it's original luster as possible (be it silver or bronze), is closer to the original pristine condition that it had after being freshly minted.

That's pretty much what it looked like when it was first issued. Someone took care of it for a long time!

A beauty for sure . That's what most of us strive for ; A 69 year old copper Cent in pristine condition . Holder that bad boy up real fast and keep it away from humidity . Cool dry environment will keep it that way for a very long time .

You have a very nicely preserved nick free 1951 D LWC. Do not clean, and also importantly, do NOT handle the surfaces/fields without protective gloves! Abe doesn't want fingerprint stains on his suit!

It is a beautiful coin. Don't touch it with your bare hands.
