Hello

I know little to nothing about these types of coins.
Any help in maybe identifying this one would be appreciated.
It was in a box with some other foreign coins I found today.
Pic.'s are not great and coin is far from decent condition.
Tough to read.

Thank's

That was pretty good. You could figure all that out
with what you had to look at. Is there a denomination and era/date
on it ?
Are these coins pretty common ?

As maridvnvm said, the denomination is AE3. We don't actually know what the Romans called their coins at this period so we refer to them by the metallic composition (AE or bronze) and size (3). In terms of the date on it, Constantine's reign as Augustus was from 309-337 AD.

This is a very common coin, as are most from this time.

Thank's all for your help.
Now I understand a lot more about these coins.
I looked around in the meantime and saw that AE3 on
a lot of coins but it did not match up with this one.
Now I see why. Different rev.'s etc. but the same denom.
if that is actually what was meant buy the 3.
That was the only ancient type coin I found in this lot
of foreign coins. I was going to put it up on the auction block here.
Maybe someone would like it for a few bucks.
