Anyone ever seen a Morgan dollar graded by PCGS designated as Redfield. I know what that means but have never seen PCGS put it on a slab. Any others out there? Thanks for your input!

A grading company will only list the pedigree of a coin if it can be authenticated as having that particular pedigree. In your case, probably what happened was someone sent one of the old Redfield Paramount holders (Paramount was the company that purchased the Redfield Hoard) to PCGS to be graded and that is how the pedigree was verified. I imagine that PCGS would only put that pedigree on its slab if they cracked the coin out of the original slab themselves.
