KenKat Pillar of the Community United States 4085 Posts	Posted 08/30/2020 12:47 pm I don't know the exact details of the CCF technical environment, but having 35+ years of corporate IT experience, I think most people have no idea how complex and how many moving pieces are involved in keeping a site like this operational. When you type in a domain name the first thing the browser does is "resolve" the name to a number. That's what DNS servers do, they covert the name to an IP Address so your browser can load it. If the DNS server is down, it can't be converted, and you never get to the site. DNS is short for Domain Name System. Shop CCF Members on eBay. Report this Post to the Staff
