I picked up a few silver bars for spot in the last 2 weeks. Considering the premium these can have I was quite happy.

Hope you got them before the price rise, rather than following the mob.

I bought 6 ounces of Pt about a year ago, but just for now, I have just about broken even, after allowing for the 20% buy / sell spread. Looking to sell maybe? in 3 years time.

If a very effective CV-19 vaccine is found and widely used, the World economy will recover and there will be much less interest in silver as a hedge, after that, for a few years.
Around the World, there are about 100 different vaccine candidates in various stages of advanced development.

Silver not used in photography anymore, BUT is finding ever increasing use in solar panels.
About 20 grams of silver is used in each solar panel.

If you are just a modest, but continuous silver accumulator, that is very long term, and it doesn't much matter when or how much you paid. This sort of accumulation approach is known as 'dollar cost averaging' (you can Google that if you wish), and can be an effective long term investment strategy.
