And it's available for free to members of the EAC as an E-Book on their members section on the website. I've spent all morning reading over it so far I am very impressed. It's big at 434 pages too.

Also the Half Cent, Large Cent and Colonial Happenings are posted from the Virtual Convention as well as some exhibits and the Annual General Meeting of the EAC.

So if you are a member go and grab your copy, if you are not a member, remember the book used to sell for $125 and EAC membership is only $40/year plus you get 4 issues of Pennywise the award winning research journal as part of your membership and the entire back catalog of issues from the 1960's.

I've got the 2001 edition of his book.
I got it mainly to work on die varieties/marriages.
I quickly found out that many of the PUP's are so fragile that they are often gone even in grades of XF.
But I'm an EAC member so I can do the E-book thing.

Kanga, like you I also have the 2001 edition, I always thought about getting the 2nd edition, but decided to wait when I heard Bob was working on this edition last year. Was really nice to find it for free to EAC members on the site today. I completely agree below VF/EF it becomes very difficult to ID these coins accurately. I've had a few VF I just gave up on, wasn't a huge deal as I don't collect by variety and was selling them, there weren't any really rare varieties of them either. These can be really challenging to ID.
