Pretty proud of my ebay score... 1957 and 1964 dimes, both advertised as silver gem proof cameo. Both appear flawless.. got both for the total cost of $7.26 after shipping. I think it was a great deal...please educate me if I'm wrong...

Should I send for grading, or not worth it for these years? Any scratches you see in the photo are likely just the plastic around each coin. The '57 seems especially brilliant.

From one who loves the under appreciated denomination, nice examples you have. I would remove the 1964 from it's original mylar asap since those were notoriously prone to scratching/toning the coin inside. 2x2 cardboard flips or air-tite holders are best. Most of mine, having a complete series of Roosevelt's, were bought cut from mint sets and now reside in Air-tite ring holders. As for grading submission, I would not as they are fairly common and easily available already graded in the marketplace well under the fees, shipping and what you've already spent on the coin.

Thanks for sharing!

@ballyhoo

Thanks for the advice, I have a 1991 Denver mint set that I got while touring the mint as an 8 year old, and you're right, a few of the coins have stained yellow over the years from the plastic. I'll get some better protection.

For the price you paid you did very good . But I would not send them in for grading as they don't have any wow factor . Slabbing them would not be worth it .

Not worth grading, but nice! I have the proof 61 and 62 along with some modern 90% dimes
if interested.

Very nice, and I would get them (CAREFULLY) out of the cello and into 2x2s or an album. I also would not send them in for grading. But certainly a good deal on them and worthy of a collection. :)

Nice but not worth the cost of having them graded.
