NGC - Coin of the Day: On Sept. 4, 1781, Los Angeles (El Pueblo de Nuestra Senora La Reina de los Angeles) was founded by Spanish settlers. Two centuries later, this 1983 Silver Dollar was issued for the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles.
