Hi all, I'm excited about this one- best steel penny I've ever seen. What's your thought on a grade? Please say MS 60+ territory.... or am I dreaming. Took a few different angles of the front due to high reflectivity....     |

This one has been replated. Very common to see on these, and unfortunately kills any value.

Doing my own research and after looking into it, unfortunately I agree with you. This was just one of about 100 coins in a grab bag, Thankfully I didn't purchase this coin specifically. I'll hang onto it, it's pretty, but I was hoping it was original  |

Reprocessed zinc has the mirror like "shiny" appearance on this one. Original luster looks much different. Color is also off as well, repressed have that bluish chrome like look to them. Surface details also appear different due to the plating, creating a filled appearance, of that makes sense.

Most times the dead giveaway is the shiny edge,the edge should not be shiny on a mint state coin. John1  |

Looks like they took an AU-Unc steelie for reprocessing . When they do that to circulated 43's they look nasty . |

Agree looks plated or polished. Probably a plate job since those are common.
