Are you referring to the Series 1935 dates? If so, I believe all US small size notes carried the series date twice up to this date, after which the date was only shown once (in this case, starting with the Series 1935-A silver certificates).

The 1928 series had 2 dates:
1935-Silver-Certificate-Unc-Two-Dates
As did 1929:
1935-Silver-Certificate-Unc-Two-Dates
and 1934:
1935-Silver-Certificate-Unc-Two-Dates
1934a:
1935-Silver-Certificate-Unc-Two-Dates
etc...
The 1935 A+ series is the one that went to 1 date.
