It may be a slightly different amount of off center strike from one side to the other, but not enough to make a difference in value. Once the dies are not limited in movement by the collar, I think you would find that they are slightly misaligned on most off center strikes.

Parts of the tops of the the lettering in UNITED STATES appear cut off, which should make the coin an off center not a broadstrike.

tropical, only one side appears "off center" and is missing design detail...the obverse looks fine...bringing me to a misaligned die...uncentered broad strike.

KeepTheChange, I agree with everyone above, tropicalbats nailed it. You asked the question and a few have answered, mind you all have answered correctly and yet you disagree with everyone.

Chase. No one is even acknowledging the fact that the obverse is not displaying any off center details...what gives

Probably because one of the dies was already misaligned.....
KTC, trust me, the guys who've already voiced their opinions are pretty dang reliable. They've been dealing with varieties and errors for a long time, personally, I tend to trust their judgement.

i understand, and I'm not negating anyones opinion,im just looking for an answer tht fits what is being shown. If the reverse shows details missing halfway thru united and the obverse isn't missing anything at all...there is reason to question it..no?
