I figured its probably some form of a Struck Through Grease error, but with strikes through an emery disc and late-stage capped die strikes bearing a little resemblance I thought id ask for opinions. The coin is slightly too thin on one side and to a lesser extent on the opposing rim; highlighted in blue on the last image.

On the reverse I'm not sure if there is a rim restricted second strike. Indentations on the rim above almost all letters. Incuse area above the N in "cent", could be nothing more than grease failed to flow there or maybe something else. Regardless, its a beautiful coin boasting a nice crisp red color with streaks of toning throughout.

to CCF. Not a mint error. Looks heated with a blow torch to me.

I agree, the coin was heated with a torch. Not like a small one, but one that has some larger tanks to be able to turn a coin red in color. Very spendable. (It is now out of the torture chamber)
