Snagged this for melt price. Figured I couldn't beat melt price for civil war gold, especially R8 gold... doesn't hurt to check your local pawn shops, just saying!

she's pretty nicked up. low AU. tough call for me if she would grade straight but they are pretty lenient on circulated gold

Congratulations on a bargain price for this scarce date!
Might have been lightly cleaned but if so it's not obvious. Lots of small marks but it doesn't look like a jewelry piece. Are there any edge problems, like scratches from a bezel?

If edges are good should make XF-45, with a shot at a straight grade.
If it were mine I'd likely submit it to ANACS for cheap authentication and variety attribution.
