Typically when I come across something like this I usually think PMD but looking closer it now has me guessing and unsure.

If you look at the rim it looks like it was cut, but what throws me off is how uneven it is, there is no pushed metal like what you would normally see and even in the crevis it is extremely clean. It almost reminds me of the edges on a rim clip, everything is well rounded off and I would assume PMD would leave the edges jagged and show some moved around metal but this does not.

Any input would be aprechiated

It looks to me like some kind of chisel could have done this kind of clean cut on copper. I can see a little bit of distortion towards the inside of the rim also. I'm new at this but just my observation.

It looks like the metal is pushed to the side of the notch on the edge. Just Post Strike Damage.
