I just finished my first edition copy of "Robert Morris- Financier of the American Revolution" by Charles Rappleye. While this 625 page masterpiece largely examines the political turmoil and break away from England, how our coinage came to be is simply fascinating. From the founding of a national mint to the commercial and banking sectors. A book which will have one looking at coinage in an entirely new perspective. Putting it in the top five of my vast library of coin related books.

Thanks for the recommendation, will look for a copy. I've got quite a few books ahead of any new ones though, I'm in the middle of Bowers Copper Coins of Vermont, (I got a small lot of signed copies in a book deal) Roger Burdette's From Mine to Mint is on the way and should be here on Tuesday, then later in the week the Karl Moulton book on Henry Voight book is due along with a new pick up of Kessler's Fugio Cents book which arrived a week ago.

Last night I almost pulled the trigger on an ebay bid for "Matthew Boulton" by H. W. Dickinson, 1937 from the Harry Bass Library. I felt like I may never have the time to read it though. and at $50.00 I've reached my limit for the month with all the books I've already purchased and need to read now.

Another book I've been holding out on getting for quite a few years finally came in, Dave Bowers California Gold Rush and Treasure from the SS Central massive tome, well over 1000 pages it's a monster in size and beauty. Couldn't pass up a deal for a copy at a lot less than they usually sell for. It's not the Deluxe Edition, but I didn't want to drop over $1000 on one, this one came in well under $100! SO excited to finally have it in my every growing library. At least the Covid-19 pandemic is giving me an excuse to stay in more and read.
