This 1949 Penny certainly is close to unc, but it has a really odd glow to it. It is red around the lettering and a bit around the bust, but the fields are purplish brown. I know that this cannot be seen in the scans, so please pardon them. It just strikes me as odd that this coin is so very shiny and almost mirror or proof-like despite not truly being full red. Honestly there is something about seeing my reflection in the brown areas of a coin that just strikes me as odd.

So what do you make of this?

Nice coin, I'm seem this color on english coins, perhaps it's due to the copper content. I'd grade this as AU-55.
