Hi guys, I like many others have been hunting for 1981 D in high grades. I havent found the 68+ of mmy dreams but I have found diecent specimens. My questions are how rare are the 30's 40's 50's as far as grading and do they have increase in value or is everything under the only well known 1981 D MS65 obsolete? Below is a photo of the best one ive found.

I'm not entirely sure what your question is.

That coin is very far from MS65.

I might not even qualify that for MS, more like AU58.

Obverse appears scrubbed. I'd say worth just face value on this one.

For grading you need pics of both sides please.

Please always post pictures of both sides.

You coin appears to have been cleaned and shows wear on the obverse. Looks like AU details to me.

I really admire your hunt for the 1981D Lincoln. It's a very difficult issue to find in high grades. The dies were highly overused from producing billions of coins and the stikes are normally quite soft due to increased die spacing (to stretch die life).

Your best bet to find one in high grade is searching mint sets. They are cheap and plentiful. If you find a dealer or a show, they will let you look through them.

I'm an ancient collector of Lincolns and I'm still not satisfied with mine. 1981D's are just poor across the board IMO. Here are pictures of mine still in the mint cello:
