Is this an example of an 1888/7 Indian? It's worn out and it's very difficult for me to tell.

@crh, with the current pic, I'm not seeing an over date. Can you please add a close-up pic of the last digit in the date? Thx.

Thank you for your response. I tend to agree with you. Here is a close up of the 8. As I am not in possession of the coin, this is the best I can do. I appreciate your help.

No rim Die Cud next to " UNITED " . This is the PUP for the Overdate coin . If it is NOT there you do not have the OD .

I believe there are TWO 1888/7 dies, this does not appear to be either one of them.

Actually, as Rick Snow has written, the Cud at K9 is not found on all S-1 examples. In any event, this coin cannot be the overdate simply due to the date position relative to the bust tip -
