Not very common, but not really scarce either. Here's what I can tell you:
I put two of these in inventory in the last week - one was a BU cherrypick at a recent show, the other was a find from 10 circ rolls of solid date 1958D cents. I have been through probably 150 BU rolls of 1958D in my time and have never found one in a BU roll...but I generally find one of these in every 10 rolls of solid date circ 1958D cents I go through.
