First of all, I'd like to welcome myself back. I needed to take a break for a while. Haven't posted a topic in forever. I recently bought this coin with the plans of sending it in for grading to NGC. Seems like graded ones sell for decent money on the bay and I bought it right. What do you all say about it? Genuine? Grade? Straight/details?

Genuine, VF details, excessive surface hairlines (would be a high VF, nearly EF if not for the details grade, and I know some will argue it up to an EF details, but in my opinion, the obverse it too worn to make it).

I love series where we can follow the age of the ruler. Agree that this coin looks to have an old cleaning. I am more inclined to high VF, without much in the way of REAL hairlines And, let's get it over to the grading sub-forum.

$300 should do it for a decent piece

Quote: want it for my crown sized collection It will definitely be for sale at that time. Quote: $300 should do it for a decent piece Check out the sold listings of graded ones on ebay. Way higher.

@BigSilver Agree, it all depends on the quality. You will definitely not get an MS63 for $300.

@BigSilver Grading is a good idea as there are high quality counterfeits of this type.

Grade is in. NGC says AU Details Cleaned. I am happy with the verdict. I expected the cleaned part. I am glad it is genuine and AU. Looking back at my pictures, I think they are a bit deceiving and the grade given by NGC is just despite the forum's opinion to the contrary. Edited to add link. In the NGC pics, the hairlines look hideous. Further edit to note, it seems that the images are not available unless you are logged in as me. https://www.NGCcoin.com/certlookup/2851505-001/50/
