I have two 74 Eisenhower dollar coins both have a corkscrew like imprint. One has the mark in front and above the eye and the other has the mark behind the eye. I have not come across this type of mark. I would appreciate comments as to this being unique or common and what the cause could be for the similar marks on different coins. Thank you.

Caused by the reeded edge of another coin. Those Ikes are heavy and can cause a nice dent!

Yes, distinctive hits caused by reeded edge of other large coins(s). Coins are jostled quite a bit as the go about their lives. Just watching videos of coins being dumped into large bags at the mint can be disturbing.

to the CCF!

Impact marks from the reeding on other coins. The depth and size of the marks look like these are "Bag Marks" from other Eisenhower dollar coins as they were packaged and shipped.
