I recently found what appears to be an extra rock the reverse of a 2018 Apostle Island quarter that was in my pocket from gas station change. I looked at it repeatedly and it sure enough appears as an extra rock on the otherwise normal ledge. I believe it must be a die break, but it fit right into the design as if it belongs there. Do coins like this one have any value?

It's not big enough of a die break to add value.
Here's one in the trees I found. Fun to find.

Small die chip. Not likely to hold any value above face.

I agree that it is a die chip which doesn't affect the value of this coin.

I would say it's pretty small, but I guess size is relative. Whether you consider it large or small, however, a chip of this size will not add value.

Thanks very much for the information, I really appreciate it. I'm saving this one in my collection despite the lack of value because I like the way that die chip took up residence like it belongs there. I have a nasty tendency to keep everything I like, but hey, that's collecting, right?
