I definetly see the split serifs, but I have better eyesight than most. Lol.I watch metal detecting channels and the detector will dig a coin and say "I have no idea", and I'll be thinking "Dude that is obviously a (fill in the blank)". I'm never wrong.
I have also worked as a professional penny sorter, and have sorted through literally millions of LWCs. Perhaps my eye is better calibrated. But in my opinion you have it.

well it's gotta be $60-$80 in G-4 condition, so I'd say send it in for attribution and grading and get your money! if they can't attribute it, then I don't think someone will buy it as a 1917 DDO-001 and it no longer "is" what it is, or isn't what it might have been.

hello dbeck22,
with the pictures provided and all of that circulation wear, my vote is a NO doubled die.

The bottom of the one and seven both look notched in the right spots. Not sure it the top of the seven is the separation line or PMD. But it looks like a winner to me.

I'll agree with sheldius partially, of anything, the only thing that might be left here to really attribute it is the first 1 in "1917", that has potential. the rest is so flattened, if it's there it's smashed and merged and hard to make a sure call.

My first thought was that is is because of the thickness on the vertical legs of the T's on TRUST, but the R is usually a giveaway and I'm not seeing the separation.
To satisfy my curiosity, can you get a clear closeup of the R (TRUST), especially inside the loop?
Words of encouragement are one of the major food groups. We need to consume them regularly to thrive and grow.
