I have this 1958 D Lincoln Wheat Error Penny with a Die Chip error on the obverse and strange silver toning on the reverse. What is this?

Minor die chip and the toning might be from a folder.

Can sitting in a folder cause a copper penny to tone silver in color? Not that this could happen. Does anyone else have any thoughts?

Could also be a little mercury. Kids used to rub it on cents to change them into a silver color.
