I'll say a solid MS-66. Super example.

There is a lot of light on the coin but it appears well struck with full mint bloom. I agree with the consensus it's a likely 66, 65 at worst.

You said in a old rattler slab- so possible it was graded 65. However I think that coin would come back MS66 or maybe 66+ if submitted raw today. Nice looking coin

i'd like to see this one with a little less glare so that the cheek and neck can be looked at closer to determine surface preservation. normally 98(O) are above average strikes. I would say the reverse is boldly struck and the obverse above average for the year. a small amount of weakness around the ear area. luster looks full on both sides but again the lighting could be disguising it. eye appeal is above average. cheek and neck abrasions could keep it at MS65. good shot at 66. this one of mine just came back recently from PCGS as MS64. most CCF thought it would grade as MS66. i'd be real interested in seeing what yours comes back as

A lot of you guys are thinking the same thing I am. PCGS called it MS-65. I don't want to resubmit it since I think that rattler makes it cooler, but I will probably send it to CAC.
Some background on this coin: I recently started dealing in coins while in college to earn some extra money on the side, as well as network with other dealers and collectors. One of the dealers I buy from bought an old collection with about a dozen or so rattlers, I bought this one along with 4 other Morgans that I sold. Thankfully, the profit I made on the other 4 coins basically paid for this one, as well as having a bit left over.
