Neat variety,it stuck out at the flea market this afternoon like a sore thump. Interestingly it wans't the doubling I noticed but the fields and sharp detail. Thinking AU58+ proof like Morgan lovers school me on this one, am outta my league.

AU-53 as well.

Is that graffiti at 3 o'clock on the obverse, or just an unfortunate pair of scratches.

no graffiti just rough handing marks android shots will bring out some crazy things that are not as noticeable in hand. The poor thing has been mixed in with all kinds of numistic riffraff for who knows how long. Flea market dealer took my offer of spot + 2.00 per coin premium for these. He's no dummy stated matter of factly "plenty of fellas tried to rip me off on these your offer will do" I yie yie he wouldn't name a price kept saying "make an offer" that old codger was a hoot. Told me "yer getting a deal buddy" and pulled out his Iphone then flicked to ebay. A true character in person, fun meeting old school horse traders at these junk markets.

Definitely not proof like. Low to mid AU, and maybe "details" grade with some of those scratches in front of the face, cheek and temple. Cant tell for sure if it's a bag mark, or PMD.
