1941 Lincoln Wheat Error Penny - Large Lamination Error?

Rosalita Valued Member United States 96 Posts	Posted 09/29/2020 2:27 pm Hi guys, I have this 1941 Lincoln Wheat penny with a large square chip of metal off the bottom of Lincoln's chin on the Obverse. Can someone explain what type of lamination error this would be considered? Also what is happening on the left rim? Is that due to a chip of metal falling off being pressed into the left on the "L" of Liberty? Report this Post to the Staff

sheldius Pillar of the Community United States 1204 Posts	Posted 09/29/2020 5:56 pm Looks like some sort of lines just north and south of the square which are running across the field and also the jacket. These might help to determine. If LAM, those lines can look jagged, but repeating (I like to think they look like stitches of a baseball). Where the metal is trying to come apart.
