I have a 1922 Peace dollar with lots of doubling. I have seen that bradfordexchange.com is selling them all decked out in a nice box and calling it a double die. So what is the general consensus on how these coins should be identified. My RedBook is old. But it does not recognize this as a true double die error. Its probably not a double struck coin because all of the examples that I have seen all appear to have the same doubling pattern on the date, the face, and the back of the head, and the word liberty. Are these coins supposed to command a higher premium due to the DOUBLING? tHOUGHTS. I paid $21 dollars for mine a little over a year ago. but its because I bought in in bulk deal.

Bradford is not reliable,avoid them...IMHO.
Looks like MD to me,but Peace dollars are not my area.
Check here for a VAM http://vamworld.com/wiki/Peace_Dollar_VAMs,but as I said it looks like MD not a DDO.

Agree with John1 on Bradford if you want peace buying the Peace dollar check out APMEX, JMBullion or GreatCollections. If your confident in your series ebay is also an option but be careful there are highly intricate modern counterfeits on the market and you wont realize how common they are until you end up with 1 then 3 then 5. I carry a neodymium magnet board, ice, bleach, scale and acid test kit for purchases now from private parties. Have seen Morgans/Peace dollar fakes so real like both I and seller thought "no way". Your 1922 is common Machine Doubling they cranked these baby's out in the millions with less than exacting standards. They are pretty though that's for sure a flapper hipster miss Liberty replacing Morgans.
Oh,and welcome to the forum glad your here.
