to the CCF! It looks like the common Close AM reverse to me. Larger, full images of both sides of the coin would help members with opinions. Edit: Better images, but still missing some detailed areas that a full image would help with. As I said, looks like a CAM, not a WAM.
ANA ID: 3203813 - CONECA ID: N-5637 Clean a coin that may be worth collecting? Please DON'T! When in doubt, leave it dirty!!

Welcome Vegasfinds. Looks like a Close AM to me as well. Suggestion: When posting images, scroll through other posts to get an idea of what the pros are asking for in order for them to give a fair assessment of what you have found. The front and back images when upright gets you in the door. A clear and focused image of the area in question, and you are golden. Many, lots of images com through the forum and it is too timely for those reading your post to have to crop and rotate each pic received. which limits the field of responding members. Thanks good luck in your journey.

Close AM. Make sure to preview your post before you click on post it. Pics need to be cropped and rotated properly before posting. John1

"In January 2009, Billy Crawford author of Die Variety News, a bi-monthly magazine dedicated to the various die varieties of Lincoln cents and other US coins, reported the discovery of a unique 1996 Wide AM variety Lincoln Cent. The coin was reported to have a 50 degree rotational die error reverse and be of the Wide AM variety. It was said to have been stolen from him along with other coins in a robbery outside of a coin show a short time later. Its existence was never authenticated by a third party grading service, and its current whereabouts is unknown." The 1996 Wide AM has never been proven conclusively to have existed another one has never turned up. It's regarded as a hoax.eye witnesses that say they saw it said it appeared doctored and to have been two coin halfs joined together (front and back like a magician coin) but they were unable to examine it in detail except through Crawford's display at that one show before it disappeared. that said I've only even seen the 2000 WAM, and the 1998 WAM personally, but enough of the others have been certified to prove their existence, the 1996 WAM has never been certified.

Normal Close AM. The Wide AM has the 'AME' with the 'M' centered. On the Close AM it shows the 'AME' area as AM_E. with the 'M' not centered.
