The lettering doesn't look like standard Chinese cash coins, it looks more like Thai letters. Report this Post to the Staff

Could it be a Pitis coin from Indonesia / Malaysia or erhaps like you say Thailand? Kingz Pillar of the Community Netherlands 626 Posts	Posted 10/18/2020 07:18 am Hello, someone told me that it probably is Chinese though, the source says its probably around 1200/1300 Yuan Dynasty or early Ming Dynasty? It might not be a very common coin indeed he says. But can anyone confirm something abot this? I checked many webpages to compare but it's like Chinese for me :P Report this Post to the Staff

The left character on the first picture rules out almost all Chinese coins with a square hole (including all the coins from the Ming Dynasty). It seems too light to be a Chinese coin, and with the odd writing I am inclined to think it is a Imitation (like the third link) but from the south not the west. Maybe made of tin.
