Came across this one and was thinking maybe an RPM, but the damage on the 5 makes me wonder if it is just PMD. The 1951-D-RPM-010 looks close.

Not sure it's 1951-D-RPM-010. What stage were you thinking? Did you check the markers? It could be. But for certain the mintmark and not only the 5 but all the numbers, took a hit of some sort. I'd take a close look at the markers, you could have PMD and a rpm.

hello MrBreeze

you are right looks CLOSE like RPM-010. but your mint mark is a little higher.

what do you think about it being RPM-009?

hard to tell but has some die scratches that might match from the right middle side of the "9" to the top right side of the mint mark

I looked at 009 as well. That actually was my first thought, but then convinced myself 010 was closer for some reason. I am having a hard time with the condition and finding the die scratches. Going to try better lighting today and see if I can discern the markers.

They match coppercoins example: 1951D-1MM-009

You coin shows some Machine Doubling, but the die scratches are there.
