Anyone have any info on this? I have a whole collection that starts w/ Washington & proceeds until Nixon. I guess that means it was made in the 70's but I can't find any info on them anywhere.

Thanks

MrRick,

I can't see the photos, but if you google "Shell Presidential coins" or Franklin Mint you will probably find them there. Most likely a private minting.

No, it's not either one of those (at least that I saw). Can you check this link?

That is from a series of US Mint bronze medals. There is also a new Presidential series and Washington appears to be the same but the reverse is different.

Interestingly enough another Mint medal utilizes the reverse of yours, it celebrates the bicentennial of the Mint

Unfortunately, I cannot tell you much more about your medal that that. They are probably not worth much but the current price from the Mint for a 1 5/16" medal is $3.50 and the 3" size is $38.

This is really starting to bother me. I can't find a direct match for these tokens ANYWHERE. The closest I can find is here :http://www.coinland.com/item_info.a...egory_id=354 , but they're still not the same. The reverses don't match up w/ the ones I have. One more try to see if anyone has seen anything on these before?

These were issued by the US mint starting in the early 70's and going through the bicentennial. They were issued as a first day cover complete with stamps and a brief history card. Similar to this one:

Hmmm, interesting. Where do you find a checklist for them & do they have any value at all?

They have some value to collectors of stamps and/or medals, I'm seem them sell on the internet from $10-15.00. I haven't come across any checklist for them.
