I picked this up at a coin show and the guy didn't know anything about it. I've looked for years and have had no luck. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm not sure it's a "coin", Maybe a commemorative token of some sort? From somewhere in the Nepal-Bhutan area of the world. Which would mean the 4000 probably isn't really 4000, but 1200.

Yes @willie nailed it. We see temple tokens posted here with some frequency. If you use the keywords TEMPLE TOKEN in the search box, you should see others that look similar.
