I recently purchased this coin and am questioning its authenticity due to what looks to be a disconnected bow from the ribbon on the reverse. Thoughts?

Something you'll often hear about counterfeits is that their details look "doughy" such as the date and letters on the obverse of your example. This is when the details aren't sharp like they would be from the real US Mint. Do a search for a certified 1909s IHC online; I recommend you start by comparing the date on your example to the certified version.

Mintmark is too large and in the wrong position. Bad fake.
