It's that time of year, time to reflect back over the past 12 months, and to look forward to the next 12 months. During this holiday season, I usually sit down and evaluate my collection, and see where I stand as far as goals I set for this year, and what goals I plan to set for next year.
For this past year (2008), I actually managed to hit 4 of my 5 goals. I don't know if I really tried harder this year than in years past, or if I just set lower goals for this year.
Now it's time for me to really contemplate what my financial situation is going to look like for next year (prognosis is not good), and figure out how to maximize what I will have available to enhance my collection, and set down some serious goals.
So, how has everyone else done on their goals for '08? or does anybody besides me set goals for their collection?

My coins collection goal for 2008 were the total number of different coins collected, and the total number of countries, total number of coins has been achieved, the target was at 6000 and I'm close to 7000, country is far from to be achieved, target was at 200 and I'm at 162. I'm no more setting target for my main collection, that is Italian coins from 1861 up to 2001, since coins missing are too much expensive, and I'm able to add one just occosionally.

My goal is to Find the 1970 and 1987 JFK halves from roll searching, and 30 ounces worth of silver.

My 2008 resolution was to purchase the last six Lincoln cents I need for my Dansco. I only bought one this year. So my 2009 resolution is to purchase the last five Lincoln cents I need for my Dansco!

Get one Dansco album completed (at least to current year) and I did with the Jeffersons. I had collected these as a kid in the Whitman's folders so I had a pretty good head start and just (finally) found the 1975-P that I was missing.

My new years resolution is to buy more Shield nickels to complete my date set. Buy some more higher grade clad Washington quarters(thought that's not really a high priority now, I want to almost exclusively deal with Shield nickels.) Buy some counterfeits coins and maybe a 1830's gold $2.50 or a 1926 gold sesquicentennial $2.50.

My New Years Resolution is the same one I make every year. STOP COIN COLLECTING. I've been making this same resolution for well over 60 years now and this time I mean it.
