you know what, if you were to search the forum for that very same question you wouldn't think it was such a stupid question after all. I know of atleast 4 in the past year or so that had the exact same question so there is no reason to feel like it was a stupid question

you have to remove the top plastic slide first then push the coin in then replace the slide when you are done inserting your coins.
make sure you push the coin down far enough so when you replace the slide it does not rub against the obverse of the coin. and make sure you use gloves so when you push the coins down you dont get finger prints on them

As a side question, is it ok to handle coins with rubber tipped Hemostats? You might know them as scissor clamps used in surgery. My wife is an RN and I get those free.

Cotton gloves work much better for handling coins, it's a lot easier.

It is my understanding that rubber is very bad for coins. Some, if not most rubber contains sulfur used in the vulcanization process. Sulfur is "death" to silver.

I was narrowly able to avoid posting the same question when I opened my first Dansco album. It is not the most intuitive system in the world but you will like working with them know that you have figured it out.

The only dumb question is the one that isn't asked around here.
I especially like that somebody pointed out making sure that the coin is pushed far enough in WITH cotton gloves so that sliding the plastic back does not contact the obverse of the coin. Good post!

Bad guys chasing you with fast cars, guns ablazing... :) Not a dumb question at all. Although if there were such a thing as a dumb question, I would be the one to figure out how to do so.

Obviously a new to coins question but only because you haven't met or talked to many others that have similar problems. What I mean is I've had people ask me what to do if a coin will not fit in the slots. They said it almost wouldn't even fit when hit with a rubber malot. Other take the coin and use it as a reamer to enlarge the slots. I've talked to people that said the coin was to small for the slot so they glued it to the back plastic sheet. I've known people that put both slides on the back so they can see the front of the coins better. I'm sure there are a lot more events about albums that are a little on the scarry side.
