I am more confused if its Halfcrown or Half Crown or the same with all lower case letters.
Coin denominations must always be lowercase - never Capitalized. Thus, "halfcrown" or "half crown" (either is acceptable), but not "Half Crown", unless it's a situation where all the words words are getting capitalized in any event (such as the title of a book or a magazine or journal article).
Even coin denominations named after people or places should remain in lowercase - thus, "Swiss francs" and "Venezuelan bolivares".
On the subject of shorthand, I suspect the only thing stopping local traditional usages (such as "6d" for sixpence) from being phased out and replaced by the American slabbing shorthand, is inconsistency among the slabbing companies themselves; PCGS seems to be making some effort to accommodate the local usages, whereas NGC is not. On PCGS slabs, for example, halfcrowns are called "1/2 Cr", while in NGC slabs they're "1/2CR". Sixpences are called "6D" by PCGS and "6P" by NGC.
I suspect the slablanders would never use "1/2C" for a halfcrown, since to an American coin collector, "1/2C" could never mean anything other than "
Half Cent". The use of the "/" symbol to mean "shilling" (eg. "1/-" means "one shilling") would likewise also never catch on, as it's confusing to people who have never seen it or used it.
Don't say "infinitely" when you mean "very"; otherwise, you'll have no word left when you want to talk about something really infinite. - C. S. Lewis
