Hello, I've recently come into possession of this coin. It seems like it belongs to the Mongols. I'd be grateful if anybody could identify the ruler and the denomination.

Ilkhans, Abu Sa'id, 1316-1335, Madinat Hamadan mint, date probably AH 717. Denomination depends on weight but since it looks quite large, it must be 6-dirhams (11.88gm), type B, Album 2195(R).

Apologies for not mentioning the weight. It is 3.8 grams. The coin is really thin. So I'm assuming it is a double dirham.

On second thought, it doesn't match with the Abu said double dirhams that I see here or on numista or elsewhere for that matter

The 2-dirhams is Album 2196. There are many types for Abu Sa'id. Yours is type B (pointed octogon/ pointed hexagon). Abu Sa'id struck coins at more than 150 mints. As you might imagine, there is considerable variation.
