I'm looking at a quite nice 1911 NFLD 50c on ebay (easy to find if you're interested. It has a "tiny spot of verdigris in the reverse legend" and it's graded MS-62 by ICCS. I would say the grade is accurate, might actually be MS-63. But I'm not sure how much verdigris detracts?

Opinions on this coinfolks?

That's not verdigris it's PVC gunk.
Verdigris is found on copper and bronze.
The damage is done, it needs to be removed from the holder and treated with acetone to prevent the damage from worsening.
"Dipping" is not considered cleaning...

That was my concern - that coin is hose in that case, correct? Whatever the original grade was - and let's assume it's accurate - it's about to drop significantly.

I think it is a silver oxide/sulfide stain on the rim over 'EOR'.
Can be removed by a professional who knows what he is doing, but will leave some evidence of localized chemical cleaning anyway.

The grade won't drop.
The value however should take a substantial hit.
The assigned grade is not a price tag.

EOR is just toning, and not distracting, however the green blob in L is (as stated) PVC gunk.
