I recently purchased a 2020 NUIE colorized coin, when I looked at the coin I noticed what appears to be a hair trapped in the coloring. (maybe its a fiber) question is, does this count as a mint error? I would imagine that if it were a pressed coin it would be considered a strike through. How does this apply to colorized coins? The mint hasn't ever made colourized coins, so no, it wouldn't be a mint error. The "error" would be on the aftermarket company that created it, in the scenario you suggested.

Looks like it was painted and possible hair in the paint. Not a mint error.

So yes, as I described it looks like a hair, my question is really more to the point of how this will be classified. I mean if the same hair or fiber were "struck though", and left an impression it would be an error. Because the coin is colorized should not mean it has any less of a standard... the colorization is performed by the mint, therefore shouldn't the "painted and embedded hair" be classified the same as a strike through? I mean technically, it is very likely the hair was partially embedded in the coin BEFORE the painting, chances are they shoot air onto the coin before colorizing to prep the surface.

Not if it was added to the coin. It may ruin the collector value for the alteration on the novelty to a collector.

Probably brushing it with of paint brush might remove the hair off above the paint.
