I've posted on here before about ebay adding a Best Offer button to my BIN listings. After 10 days and at half the listed price. Seems like that is just SOP for them. Contacting them didn't do any good. So I've learned to live with it.

In the past they sent me a message with all the listings they changed. And a link to change them back. One at a time, which is a hassle.

Well now they've started changing my auctions as well. After only 7 days. Also adding a best offer button at half the starting bid. And this time they did not notify me with a message and links. Only reason I found out about it was I received an offer.

Does their user agreement allow them to do this on auctions? And if not, how do I keep it from happening again?

Thanks,
Lance

Not sure with auctions, but I have Best Offer on all my listings. I just set my prices a bit higher and give good photos. People then haggle down to the price I wanted in the first place. Works like a charm.

I don't understand. Best Offer, by definition, means no amount listed.

I think he meant that the minimum best offer that will be conveyed to the buyer was set at 50% of the BIN price. I usually set my minimum at about 10 to 20% below my BIN price, but earlier this year ebay changed them all to 50% of the BIN price. Setting a minimum is helpful because ebay will automatically reject offers below that level, and sometimes a buyer will keep increasing their offer until they reach a price that's acceptable to you. I had to change them all back individually after ebay made the change.

I've never had ebay change my listings. When you list an item for BIN and accept offers, it gives you the choice of the lowest offer you will accept or the lowest offer you would entertain at the least. I leave mine open to any offer and either counter or accept.
