I have held on to this dime for a little while and after trying to get a handle on the entire md vs dd subject I would once again try to ask someone else their opinion. Hope I don't bother anyone else like I somehow managed to Last time I tried.

I'm sure someone will probably tell me that the lettering that is doubled is just Machine Doubling but that's not actually what I was wondering about somuch as the torch.
Tried to get a couple different angles but don't know if it will help.

Just Machine Doubling. Note the affected areas are on the outside edges of the devices. A doubled die shows spread on the centers of the devices:

While this looks like Machine Doubling also, note the devices are wider than normal?

But I'm not asking about the letters. I was asking about the bottom left of the flame. I already figured that the lettering was MD.

It is the same exact issue. Note how it follows the design? That is because the die is disturbing those devices. When the marks that are incuse pushing that doesn't match the design of the die, then the issue coin contact damage. but 99% of the time, incuse devices are from coin damage. When it follows the design, then it is Machine Doubling from the movement of the die, altering the devices after the strike.
