Just Machine Doubling. Note the date and the mintmark are showing the same direction of push by the MD that happened to the coin. Not a premium for the coin.

Well remember. MD is always on the outside edges of devices. On doubled dies and RPM, there should be a spread. That is noticed on the centers of the devices and doesn't show on the date and mintmark in the same direction. (until after 1990. RPMs didn't happen after that year. So doubling on the mintmarks after that year are now doubled dies with it matching the date devices.

On your coin the MD is showing on the date and mintmark in the same direction. That didn't happen on that year. The die was created first, and the mintmark was added later. So the RPMs and doubled die didn't show the same direction of spread. During the 1968-1972 cents, there were a lot of machine doubled examples. And every one thinks they found the rare doubled die. But on the rare doubled die, note the other devices:

The date area is affected, the least. But it seems that people who are looking for the DDO, start with the date and stop there. The other devices are a lot more affected. Hope this helps in your searching. How much hub doubling has to be present to match a known doubled die? All must be an exact match, or else if was not from that die.

I find adding a little bit more to a subject, helps to retain the previous information as well as perhaps new information added on. If you had all this in a book, it probably wouldn't get read. But having the live additions, it helps to teach and retain it better. I find new stuff all the time. You just don't get it all at once.
