I was wondering what everyone's thought was regarding the grade for this 1913 large cent.

On the high side - AU anyway. But I would be concerned about those little black splotches - do you know what they are?

From a closer look, they seem like they are just dirt/grime with possible zinc exposure or some sort of colored foriegn debris/paint that look the same as zinc.

I was debating on giving it an acetone bath to see if it cleared up the spots but I felt like I better leave it. Upon closer inspection it also looks like it could pass as a possible woody but I'm not 100%.

Very minor wear on the cheek, collar and leaf tips. AU-50. I think that the green is the start of corrosion.

I'll say AU-50 as well, but concerned that the date-side ED spot might detail it.

Can't say I agree with AU, I have this coin EF max look at the wear on the shoulder, moustache, beard just to point out the most obvious. Just my opinion.

Cheers, Bill

Genuine. Questionable colour.

Solid EF coin. No chance for AU. But still a decent coin.
