I have been coin roll hunting for a few months now so I am relatively new. I still have not found any double dies, but I think there is a chance this on is. The doubling I am seeing is to the north and north-east of "GOD," Lincoln's Head and Shoulder, and the 9 on the date. I know the coin is bad shape, but looking for a win - 2020 knows I need it. Let me know what you think.
You are looking at outside edges of the devices. This is Machine Doubling. On a doubled die, the spread would be on the center of the coin, enlarges the devices and would show contour on each side of the devices. MD removes the contour off the devices. That is what you are looking at. Look at the centers of the devices: Note the centers on these doubled dies devices. That is the area to look for a doubled die. The outside edges are were MD is often seen.
