Purchased a box of pennies today and hit a home run (at least for me). In one of the first rolls I saw a wheat head cent at one end and smiled as I showed it to my wife before tearing apart the plastic. It was a 1945 in f12. The home run was the other two coins in the roll. I came across my first 2009 P Washington cent and then a few more coins later stumbled into my first 2010 cent! I needed both of those coins and it was great to find all of these together in the same roll.

Anyway continued on with most of the rest of the box and found some more bu 2010 cents as well as a good selection of copper, a few wheats (to include a 1936 p in ef 40) and other bu zincs. Look forward to finishing the box tommorow and getting another one! Hoping to find some more of the 2009 p Washington cents.

Sincerely, John Leckrone

I have been going through a box with hardly any copper but lots of BU zincs. Finally found my 2nd 2000 Wide AM coin just now. Probably grades XF but it was just nice to find another one. Also just pulled a VF 1944-s. I always get excited to find those S mint coins!

John - always nice to fill holes!

I think he is referring to a 2009 LP4 (Lincoln in Washington).

30 More Rolls of Pennies here in Canada, came from the same batch. About 20 rolls of it were solid copper, just kept a few AU and of course all the USA. Here's what I found for USA:

1940
104 USA (11 LWC 1926D, 1941, 1944 (2), 1944S, 1946S, 1948, 1949D, 1951D, 1956D, 1958)

You are getting some nice finds Hammer. Congrats.

Finished up a box.

517 coppers into the pile - my jug is almost full, so I'll be rolling soon.

7 S Mints - 68S, 69Sx2, 71S, 73S, 74S

10 Canadians - 52, 61, 76, 77, 79, 82, 83, 89x2, 02

12 Wheats - 1919, 1937, 41, 44, 46, 46D, 47Dx2, 47S, 48D, 51, 53

Three 1983 Machine DDRs - still hoping for that actual DDR. Had ALOT of 1983's in this box.......

No WAMs/CAMs or other DDO's.

Did add a few more BU 60's and 70's to tubes.

Very nice finds! It's weird that one finds more wheats than S mint coins. The same happens to me.
