Just went through an unknown amount of coins from my father's 5 gallon water jug (just a small portion of it). Hardly any coins past 2000, which means the copper percentage is close to 50%. There was wheats from the 50s (17); 40s (9); a 1934 and a 1918. I found a couple of coins that are not centered. I did not look for any common errors, I was primarily separating the wheats, the coppers, the 82s, and then several zinc years to look at later.
The problem is I think a lot of these coins have suffered from improper storage. A lot of green on the coins... not sure what to do about that problem.

ok, so I finally finished my $90 of CRW. it took me over a week, been really busy..
this time around I saved my S mint pennys:
6x 1968-s
13x 1969-s
11x 1970-s
20x 1971-s
12x 1972-s
11x 1973-s
8x 1974-s
wheats:
28-s, 35, 40-s,d, 41(2), 42, 44, 50-d, 51-d,s, 52-d,p, 53, 54-d, 55-d, 56-p,d, 57-p,d(3), 58-p,d,
and my first 1901 indian
BU notables:
60, 60-d, 65, 66, 67, 68-d, (2)73-d, 75-d,
i did manage to find around $15 of copper.

In the last "good" box I found this 1987 showing Die Deterioration. At first glance it looked like machine wrap wear on the obverse. The reverse is a bit more obvious.   And wow, a zinc cent that's toning splendidly and not self destructing! You can't see it in this straight on pic but if you turn it to the light all the dark areas have a fabulous purple/blue/crimson toning. You can see hints of below Liberty and to the right of E Pluribus Unum. So a nice coin in hand, I just thought it was interesting mostly because it seemed like I was paying attention. |

I opened a bank roll at work today and there were 17 1943 "Steelies" in it. That's never happened before.

I haven't roll searched in forever, so I decided to go through 20 rolls. I got a few 40's-50's wheats, a worn 1934 wheat, and these: 1968-D Clipped Planchet  And my first Wide AM cent!  Boy have I gotten the worst luck finding those Wide AMs, took me at least 10,000 cents until I found one. |

i found my first WAM about a month ago, and the funny thing is, I'm on the WEST COAST. I think its even more rare when we get them out here. you east coast guys are lucky in that respect... |

I'm not sure what I'm going to do with them. I'd only picked out maybe a dozen 2010 from circulation as they were just starting to show here locally, so I wouldn't mind keeping a couple rolls. Trade some for D mint rolls maybe. If these were LP1-4s I'd surely keep the box. |

I have horrible luck with WAM's too, I've gone through at least 20,000 plus cents by now, and not a single one. |

10 dollars of pennies (string and son sealed)
11 wheaties about average
'36, '45, '47, '51S, '53D, '54S, '55,'56x3, 56D
The 1951S was a hole filler and the 54S was an upgrade from what I had
also got a P and D shield cent (good for being in Buffalo)
BU 70,71,75,76x2,87, 90
1 68S and one 73 with a big chunk of copper on the bottom left of the coin (will post pics on its own thread later along with some other cool things I found this week.)
