Found this one in my last roll. 1970 S. I'm pretty sure it's a large date, but maybe someone with a better eye can identify it. Also, if you look at the left side of the rim, it looks like there's a groove in the rim. Is this a mint error? If so, what it this kind of error called and does it carry any sort of premium?

Sorry for the poor quality photo, my scanner isn't very good.

Definitely a large date. The 7 drops just so below the 0. I find this much easier to see in the photos than in hand.

I am really confused. I have picked about 25 70S LMC in the last few months while roll searching. They all look like small dates to me, but I know this could not be. I guess my eyes are good enough.

I have 15 rolls of 1970-S Lincolns so far. I'm fairly sure that none of them are small dates, but I'm not positive....so I hoard them all.

Who am I kidding...I hoard EVERY S-mint memorial I find.

Once I saw a small date and large date side-by-side (real coins, not photos), the difference became extremely obvious and I can always spot the small dates now.

I highly recommend that if anyone has never seen a small date in hand, then find one at a coin shop or show and compare it to the large date that the dealer surely has as well.

Finished another box one of the worst yet, 3 common wheaties and 4 S's 68, 2x70, and a nice 73. Did get 5 nice canadians though. Got me a celestron 4302 USB microscope on order should help these old eyes and take some decent pics.

Bad bag this week for me too...first bag that I did not find either a WAM or 88 RDV-006. Didn't even find a minor double die. Hope this doesn't become a trend.
